The Reverend Canon Andrew Green
Fr. Green has been ordained in the Episcopal Church since 1985 and retired earlier this year after 30 years as the Sr. Pastor of St. Paul in the Desert, Palm Springs.
Fr. Green served the Palm Springs Police Department as a Chaplain and has served on the Board of the Desert AIDS Project for 18 years. In addition Fr. Green was elected twice to the Palm Springs Unified School District Board of Education, serving for 7 years.
Fr. Green has served on several city, county, and church committees, commissions and boards.
Fr. Green has received many awards, including the Gloria Greene Humanitarian Award by the AIDS Assistance Program; The Steve Chase Humanitarian Award was the Partners For Life Award by the Desert AIDS Project, and the 1999 Distinguished Community Service Award from the Anti-Defamation League. In addition, he has received numerous recognitions from the Palm Springs City Council, the Honorable Raul Ruiz, Riverside County, and the Well in the Desert, the Palm Springs Black History Month Committee, and others.
Fr. Green is married to Susan for 42 years and has three grown children and five granddaughters.
